This page explains how money moves on Meal2U: what customers pay, what cooks and delivery partners earn, and how payments, payouts and refunds work. Meal2U is operated by Alphaverse Consultant Private Limited, registered in the United Kingdom (company number 15921104).
1. Who processes payments
- All card payments and payouts on Meal2U are processed by Stripe, a regulated payment provider.
- You enter card details on Stripe’s secure payment page. Card details never reach Meal2U and are not stored by us.
- Meal2U is not a bank or payment institution and does not hold money for you. It does not offer loans, credit, crypto-assets or investment products.
- Payments are for real-world goods and services (food and delivery), so they are taken through Stripe, not through Apple or Google in-app purchases.
2. What customers pay
- Food: each cook sets their own menu prices.
- Delivery charge: worked out for the distance from the kitchen to your address. A cook may offer free delivery.
- Service fee: a Meal2U fee per order.
- Tax: where it applies, shown separately or as included in prices.
- Tips (optional): the whole tip goes to the cook. It is added to what you pay.
The full total is shown before you pay. Your order is sent to the kitchen only after Stripe confirms the payment. Prices are in the local currency (pounds sterling in the United Kingdom).
3. Cooks: fees and earnings
- Meal2U takes a commission (service charge) on each completed order. The rate for your country is shown in the app before you accept orders.
- Some countries charge a one-off registration fee before approval. Whether it can be refunded is shown before you pay.
- Your earnings, fees and payouts are shown in the app under Earnings.
- As an independent food business you are responsible for your own tax affairs [Requires Legal Review].
4. Delivery partners: pay and fees
- Your pay for each delivery is shown in the app before you accept it.
- Meal2U takes a commission on each completed delivery. It is never more than the pay for that delivery.
- Some countries charge a one-off registration fee before approval.
5. Payouts (cooks and delivery partners)
- Payouts are made through Stripe to your bank account. You set up your payout details in the app with Stripe.
- Earnings become available 48 hours after delivery, once nothing is still open on the order.
- If a customer asks for a refund on an order, payouts for that order wait until the refund decision is finished. Tips are never held.
- You can see the status of each payout in the app.
6. Refunds and disputes
Refunds are made by Meal2U staff to the card that paid, through Stripe. A refund can never be more than what was paid. See the Refund, Cancellation and Dispute Policy.
7. Stripe terms for cooks and delivery partners
Payment processing services for cooks and delivery partners on Meal2U are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement. By agreeing to Meal2U’s terms or continuing to receive payouts as a cook or delivery partner, you agree to be bound by Stripe’s agreement, as Stripe may change it from time to time. So that Meal2U can enable payments through Stripe, you agree to give Meal2U accurate and complete information about you and your business, and you allow Meal2U to share it and your transaction information with Stripe.
8. Fraud and security
Meal2U staff never ask for your password, full card number or security codes. If you see a payment you don’t recognise, contact us at accounts@meal2you.com.
9. Contact
Questions about a payment, fee or payout: accounts@meal2you.com, or in the app Profile → Complaints and Support.
